DC - Damian 'Al Ghul' Wayne #4 / 5
The current Robin, The biological son of Batman, Damian 'Al Ghul' Wayne.
If I get any information wrong please tell me about it, I’m just going off what I’ve read and been told, thanks.
I first want to say Damian (and any of the other Robins) doesn’t deserve the hate they get. Damian is an antsy teen stop hating on him oml. (people who call him or Jason the ‘Angry Robin’ are really funny to me like have you seen Dick Grayson when he was Robin)
I will go into more detail about this and my views on Damian at the end because a while ago I wrote a paragraph on his character just for fun and think it’s fitting to share here.
Background/ Backstory
Damian Wayne is the current Robin. He is the biological son of Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Batman's archenemy Ra's al Ghul. Damian was raised by the League of Assassins, a group of highly skilled assassins led by Ra's al Ghul and was genetically engineered to age two times (correct me if I’m wrong) faster so he could take over the League of Assassins sooner.
Damian was introduced in 2006 and has since become an amazing character that many people love. He is known for his intelligence, combat skills, and his complicated relationship with his father. Damian is often portrayed as an anti-hero, willing to take extreme measures to achieve his goals, not afraid to break Batman’s ‘no kill’ rule.
Despite his young age; around 13, Damian has also taken on the role of Robin, Batman's sidekick. He is the fifth character to take on the mantle of Robin, following in the footsteps of Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Stephanie Brown.
Throughout his comic book appearances, Damian has undergone significant character development. He has faced difficult challenges, including the death of his mother and his own mortality, which has helped him to mature and become a more complex character.
Overall, Damian Wayne is a fascinating character in the Batman universe. His unique background and complex personality make him a compelling addition to the series, he’s something new that the series in my opinion needed.
My Opinion on Damian!
this is based on the movie ‘Son of Batman’ which I really recommend, it was one of the first things that introduced me to Damian and I loved it so much.
Damian is a truly misunderstood character and overly hated Robin, he's categorised as the most aggressive and destructive Robin by some people but he's really just a kid who's gone through so much at such a young age, going through things many adults will never have to face.
He's a child who was raised in an unsafe and very different environment with different rules in society and it causes him to be hated, he doesn't deserve to be hated when doing things he was once taught to be right.
in just this movie he has such large growth adapting to batman's rules (in quite a short time too) which are so different from what he was taught but he's still a child having to relearn many things he was taught wrong and shouldn't get hate when slipping up sometimes.
